L Shape Concrete Calculator
This L shape concrete calculator splits an L-shaped pour into its two rectangles, sums their areas, and applies one thickness — wraparound patios, garage extensions and L-shaped house slabs in a single calculation.
So verwenden Sie diesen Rechner
L-shape volume = (L₁ × W₁ + L₂ × W₂) × thickness Rechenbeispiel: A patio 20 × 10 ft with a 10 × 8 ft leg, 4 in thick: (200 + 80) × 0.333 = 93.3 ft³ ≈ 3.46 yd³.
Every l-shaped concrete calculator works the same way: decompose the L into two rectangles. Measure the full outer rectangle of one leg, then the remaining leg — don't double-count the corner where they meet.
The easiest split: extend one leg to its full outside length, then measure the second rectangle only up to where it meets the first. Sketch it before you measure; five minutes with a pencil prevents a half-yard mistake.
U-shapes and T-shapes decompose the same way into three rectangles — run the third section through the irregular shape calculator, or add two L-calculations.
Häufig gestellte Fragen
Häufige Fragen zum l shape concrete calculator.
How do I measure an L-shaped slab?
Split it into two rectangles at the inside corner. Measure one leg at full outer size, the second only to where it meets the first — never overlap them.
Both legs different thicknesses?
Rare, but possible: run each leg separately through the rectangle calculator at its own thickness and add the results.
What about T- or U-shaped slabs?
Same principle with three rectangles. Use the irregular shape calculator, which accepts multiple sections.
How much waste for an L-shape?
5–10%. The inside corner is a natural crack point — plan a control joint at the re-entrant corner regardless of waste.
