Come usare questa calcolatrice

  1. Inserisci le tue dimensioni — piedi per le lunghezze, pollici per lo spessore.
  2. Regola le opzioni — percentuale di sfrido, dimensione del sacco e il prezzo locale del calcestruzzo.
  3. Leggi i risultati — volume, sacchi, peso e costo si aggiornano in tempo reale mentre digiti.

La formula

Wall volume = Length × Height × Thickness

Esempio svolto: A 20 ft retaining wall, 4 ft tall × 8 in thick: 20 × 4 × 0.667 = 53.3 ft³ ÷ 27 ≈ 1.98 yd³ — order 2.2 yd³ with waste.

A retaining wall concrete calculator is just the slab formula stood upright — but walls consume concrete quickly because the full height counts, not a 4-inch slab depth. An 8-inch-thick wall uses one cubic yard for every 40 square feet of face.

For CMU (block) walls, you don't pour the wall — you fill the cores. A block fill calculator / core fill calculator works from wall area and block size: an 8 inch block wall fully grouted takes about 1.12 yd³ per 100 ft² of wall. Our grout calculator does this per cell spacing.

Retaining walls above 3–4 ft usually require engineering: footing size, rebar schedule, drainage and batter all matter more than the raw volume.

Domande frequenti

Domande comuni sulla concrete wall calculator.

How much concrete for a poured wall?

Length × height × thickness in feet ÷ 27. A 30 ft × 8 ft foundation wall at 8 in thick needs 30 × 8 × 0.667 = 160 ft³ ≈ 5.9 yd³.

How much grout to fill concrete block cores?

Fully grouted: about 0.93 yd³ per 100 ft² for 6 in block, 1.12 yd³ for 8 in block, 1.73 yd³ for 12 in block. Partial grouting scales down with cell spacing — use our core fill calculator.

How thick should a retaining wall be?

Poured retaining walls are typically 8 inches minimum, increasing with height. Walls over 4 ft tall should be engineered with a proper footing and drainage.

Does the calculator handle both wall types?

This page computes poured wall volumes. For block fill / core fill quantities, the grout calculator has per-block-size yields and cell spacing options.
