Concrete Weight Calculator
This concrete weight calculator converts volume to mass: pick a concrete type and get weight in kilograms, tonnes, pounds and US tons. Normal-weight concrete is 2,400 kg per m³ — the number every concrete weight calculator kg m3 lookup is really after.
Weight = volume × density. Densities: normal 2,400 kg/m³ (150 lb/ft³), reinforced 2,500, lightweight 1,800, high-strength 2,600+ Exemple résolu : 2 m³ of normal concrete: 2 × 2,400 = 4,800 kg (4.8 t ≈ 10,580 lb). One cubic yard ≈ 4,050 lb.
Concrete weight drives real decisions: axle loads for delivery, crane picks for precast, dead load for structure, and whether your trailer can legally carry the demolition rubble. A concrete calculator weight output in both kg and lb covers all of them.
Density varies with mix: reinforced concrete adds ~100 kg/m³ of steel; lightweight aggregate mixes drop to 1,800 kg/m³ or less; high-density radiation-shielding mixes exceed 3,000. Pick the type above to match.
Rules of thumb: one cubic yard ≈ 2 US tons; one cubic meter ≈ 2.4 tonnes; one cubic foot ≈ 150 lb; a standard 4-inch slab weighs 50 lb per square foot.
Foire aux questions
Questions courantes sur le concrete weight calculator.
How much does concrete weigh per m³?
Normal-weight: 2,400 kg/m³. Reinforced: ≈ 2,500 kg/m³. Lightweight: ≈ 1,800 kg/m³. High-strength/high-density: 2,600+ kg/m³.
How much does a cubic yard of concrete weigh?
About 4,050 lb (1,839 kg) — roughly two US tons per yard.
How much does a 4 inch slab weigh per square foot?
About 50 lb/ft² (150 lb/ft³ × 0.333 ft). A 10 × 10 ft slab at 4 in weighs ≈ 5,000 lb.
Why does my mix weigh more than 2,400 kg/m³?
Rebar (≈ +100 kg/m³), denser aggregates, or low air content. Fresh concrete also weighs slightly more than cured due to water later lost to hydration and evaporation.
